In the talk I shall briefly explain the basics of time scales calculus and introduce linear graininess (LG) time scales. The notion of the LG time scale encompasses the cases of the reals, the \(h\)-equidistant grid, the \(q\)-grid and, more generally, the mixed (\(q,h\))-grid.
