Session 11. Geometric Analysis and Related Topics |
The Gradient Flow of the Möbius Energy |
Simon Blatt, KIT Karlsruhe, Germany |
In 1988 Fukuhara proposed the use of energies to deform knots into a
standard form. In this talk will have a look at the most prominent knot
energy, the Möbius energy introduced by Jun O'Hara. We will discuss new
and wellknown results in this context focusing on a new \(\varepsilon
\)-regularity result for the negative gradient flow and its
consequences
