Session 19. Information and Communication in Mathematics |
Semi-automatic tools for content analysis of mathematical literature |
Ulf Schöneberg, zbMATH - FIZ Karlsruhe, Germany |
The talk is based on the joint work with Wolfram Sperber |
Content analysis of mathematical publications is useful and important
task for the scientific information service zbMATH.
We adjusted well established methods of Natural Language Processing
(NLP) for the special needs of mathematics in particular for handling
mathematical formulae. We present a mathematics-aware part of speech
tagger and give a short overview about our adaptation of NLP methods for
mathematical publications. We show the use of the tools developed for
key phrase extraction and classification in the database zbMATH.
